Recommendations? Two days in Boone area

    Hi!

I dug around the threads and didn't see this asked recently (sorry if it's a duplicate)

With two days to spend in the Boone area, I was hoping to divide the time between Rocky Knob and a longish loop somewhere.

    Questions:

    1) Is Rocky Knob an entire day of smiles? or more like a 1/2 day and maybe combine it with a small loop somewhere close?

    2) Any recommendations for 15+ mile challenging (advanced?) loop that represents the local trails well and shouldn't be missed?

    3) (based on number 1) Maybe a smaller loop?

    Really appreciate any feedback! Thanks

What dates will you be in Boone? How far are you willing to drive for a long, challenging loop?

    Some options-
    ~30 minutes or less
-Beech mountain - opens on June 7; lift access trails not really any climbing if that is your thing
-Sugar mountain - really slow lifts, better to shuttle it
    -Rocky Knob as you mentioned
-Wilson's Creek - shuttle runs, will need a guide
-Kerr Scott Trails in Wikesboro (Kerr Scott Trail Guide) - warrior creek is 12 miles, OVT is 6 miles and Dark Mtn is around 7.5 miles. These are fast flowy trails. It is easy to combine OVT and Dark Mtn, but not sure if you can connect to warrior creek without riding on the roads. Someone on here will know though.

    ~2 hrs away
-Pisgah area - tons of stuff here; easy to gnarly-ish (farlow); some trails are seasonal
-DuPont State Forest - many many miles of trails and fireroads to make for epic rides and awesome scenery. Fun trails anywhere from fast and flowy to steepish descent with nice drops to eastern slickrock
    - Bent Creek - a good bit of trails here too, fast and flowy

Find someone to ride with in Wilson Creek area.Beech has xc stuff as well.Sugar's lifts open July 4th.You can make a full day out of Rocky knob if you do a few laps. The trails around Kerr Scott are better suited for xc and small travel bikes.

Appreciate the input. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Still working on dates. Definitely doing more research on the suggestions!

Any feedback on the Bracken Mountain Trail from Brevard?
