Scorpa SY250R.Brown Mtn Fun 3-6-7-5-1a-9-10 Wheeeeee!!!
( formerly known as thadthetroll...)
NICE!!!
I'd love to own a trials bike. Over half the guys I ride with put trials tires on their woods bikes. They say the grip of the tire on hill climbs feels like they're cheating. LOL!

The Pirelli MT-43 on the back of my KTM 250 XCW is like magic on hills, rocks, fallen trees, samd, mud... pretty much everything except wet fresh fallen leaves.

Gonna get me one of them thar magic tars!!
So Jerry... do your non-dirtbiking mountain-biking friends tease you for riding motorcycles because "the motor does all the work"?
So perhaps when the "season" opens back up we could gather at Browm Mtn for some non-physical mtrcyle riding??
At least i have to stand-up all day otherwise it would just be easy huh?
The trials tires are great as long as its grabbing with good throttle control. If you spin it it does`nt have big deep knobs to dig down into the dirt.
My .02 if i had an enduro type bike id leave a knobby on the front with the trials tire in the back. I can`t push my Scorpa hard in corners( foot out riding the tank, busting berms, etc) so front tire washing out isn`t an issue, It would be if i could sit down..

Absolutely.
That is how I am running my KTM, MT43 in the rear with a Michelin S12 up front. I come from a dirt track background, so I like the slide that the MT43 delivers in flat corners. I have been nothing short of amazed at how well the trials tire works . We spent the better part of the last year I lived in MI trying to find someplace it didn't work well, and wet, slippery, freshly fallen leaves over clay was the only place we found, and to be honest, the guys with knobbies weren't much better off.
We don't have to wait for Brown's April 1st opening.
We can just meet up at Brushy: Brushy Mountain Motor Sports Park
Rode there yesterday. It was great!! (as always)
The #1 loop....all 23 miles of it and then the "hill climb" newer route to the right of the old clay slip-n-slide..
Perhaps we can get a little ride together before long y`all
Did 9, 10, 11, then lunch, then about half of 1 this Sunday. Parts of 10 and 11 remind me of Squirrel Gap.
You been up the new hill climb to the right of the clay slip-n-slide? If so, kudos!
I came soooo close to giving it a try just before lunch. It had rained the night before and I decided not to try. I didn't want to waste my energy wrestling with the bike if I didn't make it.
It`s a challenge going to the right and even on the Scorpa i want it DRY...and that one da@# rock at the top you have to make a left over is a stopper for sure!
Sounds like we will have a motorized play day before long!!
I can manage about 30 miles on the Scorpa by carrying a back pack with 4 20oz MSR Fuel bottles. That`s a mighy full day of dirt biking for me.
Let`s try to get a group together trying to pinpoint a dry relatively warm day. Brushy can be brutal with the red slop...
Oh yea i thought i needed to say something about Mtn Biking so yep, i do still ride fixed gear 29er mtn bikes with Gabe(Smoke Bikes) and gosh, golly im even contemplating another fixed up PMBAR...any takers out there? ummm

You don't need to explain who you are, Thad. I've been a long time admirer.
Wear your best riding outfit at Brushy and I'll pay your entry fee.
