How the trails currently? Considering coming up tomorrow... probably ride stuff around Squirrel and surrounding areas. Snow on the ground? Doesn't look like you got that much rain today. True?

Bent Creek was in good shape last night. Very little rain today so as of right now today they are great!

Big tree down on Long Branch, couple hundred yards down from the Cemetery Loop.

Gonna need a bigger saw than what I carry.

Translation: "I can't do what I want in the forums until I get my post count up, so instead of posting something at least a little bit readable, let alone adding something to useful to the topic at hand, my solution is to post obscure and indecipherable replies to random forum threads."

Disclaimer: My translating skills might totally suck and I'm way off base.

Back onto the subject of trail conditions, but not in the slightest bit useful... How hot does it have to get in March before rock melts and the tree roots spontaneously burst into flame? This weather is crazy! (But I'll take it)

    Turkeypen report 3/21:

Vineyard: Perfect. Very leafy still, needs traffic. Go ride it!
Riverside: Muddy as expected. Typical mudholes.
    S. Mills: Muddy as usual but looked well-used and clear of trees.
Cantrell: Nicer than usual. Thanks for the chainsaw work.
Squirrel gap: Perfect. Dry and free of leaves and trees.
Mullinax: thanks for the drainage work.

Lots of recent rain but the trees are leafing out and the trails are in decent/fair/good shape.

I'm old - please don't tell me, I forget - but understood that post. Then again, only a few truly understand me. (The OP gave thanks.)

Squirrel is in great shape this week.

The briars seem to be doing well too if you were to
fall off the mountain at just the right spot.

Any thoughts on the Pishag area trails for this weekend? Looked like a lot of rain happened.

    HI!
Will be heading up this way from Florida this July. Im currently riding a single speed 9er, ridgid bike.

Bad idea? or Not? Never rode up there before. So just curious if I would be miserble and miss out on a lot of great riding due to lack of suspension and multiple gears....

    Thanks!

Rode the Pisgah 111 this weekend. The course has a LOT of creek, stream, and poop puddle crossings but it's still magnificent. 99% incredible *****eness.

    Rain is a good thing

In other, more relevant news, it stopped raining early yesterday and Pisgah should already be passable.... The more sustainable trails in Dupont and Bent Creek probably need a day or two to dry out....
