Pisgah SORBA workdays in DuPont- March 2014

Pisgah Area SORBA DuPont trail workdays in March

Sunday March 16 3-5PM: Meet at the Guion Farm parking area.
Join us for a workday on the Kids Loop at DuPont State Recreational Forest. Recent logging activity has left this loop in a mess and we need to do a clean up and get it ready for the spring riding season.

Sunday March 30- 9AM-12noon: Meet at Lake Imaging parking area
We will be working on Ridgeline and Jim Branch Trails, 2 favorites of mountain bikers visiting DuPont. Work will consists mainly of clearing drains and minor tread work.

Please bring: Water, lunch and snacks, good footwear, glasses, work gloves and clothing in layers to allow adjustments as the weather warms up.
No experience is needed; we will have trained project leaders to direct the work. You do not have to be a PAS member to attend and contribute. All needed tools will be provided, but if you have shovel or pair of loppers please bring such.

Please let me know if you plan to make either of these so we can plan on the right amount of tools.

I messed up in the OP and stated the second workday was a Sat. I have corrected that now to reflect Sunday March 30. Sorry for the confusion.

Dangit, I RSVPed on Meetup for the one on the 29th through Meetup and then noticed it was changed to the 30th. Sunday mornings are no good for me.

Maybe I can make the one at the kids loop on the 16th though since it is later in the day.
Just stick it in granny and start grinding.

Sorry bout that. I am teaching a 1 day trails class at REI on the 29th, thus why the trail project had to be on the 30th.

I know nothing about the meet up post, I don't do meetup.

Today's workday on the kids trail is cancelled due to rain. I will re-schedule this and post up later when I have a date figured out.

Just curious, regarding the 1-day trails class, is it aimed toward any joe-blow or more experienced trail builders?
    Thanks

Thanks Woody, I was just curious.
I've worked with you before a couple of times at DSF and with your guys at Gateway Park in Travelers Rest and always end up learning something.
Nowadays I'm researching Pump Tracks since my kids are still too young to go for long rides and I can put one in the backyard.

Thanks for your past help in DuPont and at gateway. Indeed, always learning and there is a lot to learn. Pump tracks are the bomb for kids, every city park needs one. Fun and great workout for adults as well, and yes there are many in back yards.

Don't know yet. We have a work project scheduled for Sunday but advertised that for work on Jim Branch and Ridgeline. I might switch up and work on the kids trail, but will likely stay as is and schedule a Wed. evening for kids trail work. I am out of town all next week though.

Yes, we will get it done before then. I would hope that there will be many parents and other riders that want to help get the kids trail in good shape for TAKMB day.
