    Pisgah ride 10/22/2006

This is going to be a shorter one due to time restraints.

Thiking of hitting some seasonal stuff since it is all open!

Meeting at 8:00 Sunday morning for about a 4 hour ride.

Most likely around the Fish Hatchery.

    8am?

I would love to go but, 8am is a bit early . I would becoming from greenville. Iam usually slow in the mornings, but all my buddies I ride with down here have been lame lately about going to pisgah. I have not ridden too much riding lately up there and would love to join you. I am on a 6and 6 turner that goes up hill slow with my huge body on it but, Iam in it for the fun of being in the woods. I know the area extremely well and if you left me I would not be in trouble. how about 830am.

The 8am start time is due to family constraints. Most likely we will end up riding out around 8:30 anyway. I am also headed up from Greenville but I won't be able to carpool because I will have some family (hikers) with me as well.

    My route is tentatively:

Fish Hatchery --> 475B --> Cove Creek --> Daniel Ridge --> Butter Gap

I might change that up but it will be something to that effect.

Great, looks like we will have a pretty good group again. I got a buddy coming from Columbia. (he has to get up waaaaay earlier than us 4000000000000000psi )

My g/f and my dad might be hiking up to Looking Glass Rock while we bike if anyone is interested in bringing their "hiking friends." I will let everyone know for sure about the hiking later this week.

If you think that Long Branch or Butter Gap comes back to the lot, then you better just let me lead the ride

Long Branch runs into Butter Gap which turns into Cat Gap, and yes Cat Gap dumps you out right by the Hatchery.

    Yes meet at the Hatchery.

    Confirmed

This is the last time I will be around this "devil machine" so let it be known that this ride is on!

My pops and g/f will be hiking up to looking glass rock as well. So if you know anyone who would want to join them in a hike, tell them to come out.

    See ya Sunday.

I'll be there, along with Broussard and I think several other southcackalackins. Y'all are almost as thick as Floridians up here. Any Asheville peeps wanna carpool?

    That hurts, man.

I live 2.74 miles further away from the Fish Hatchery than you, and
now I'm being lumped in with the Floridians.

So anyway, yeah. We'll be loading up in my motorhome and heading
up Sunday morning. After the ride, I'm going to meet with the FS and
see how my plans to put in a gated community at Cove Creek are
    progressing.

Enjoy the trails while you can, ya' damn bark-eaters !

    Shoot...

You probably live 2.74 miles CLOSER to the hatchery than I do. I ain't hatin, I love you palmetto punks.

    Floridians are a different matter...

Yeah tomato, but I'm bummed because if now only 70% grease powered since it's getting cold out. No snooze button this time, it's gonna be above 31 degrees.

Looks like I may get out of work early and "play in the woods" with you guys.
Anyone have foolproof directions for getting to the fish hatchery from downtown G'ville?

    Bailing again

I looked at the weather forecast this AM and decided a change of plans was in order. Rode from the hatchery today with Broussard, Endomaniac and some others. It was a perfect day, the leaves were popping and half the world was out enjoying it.

Hope the rain holds off for y'all.

Who invited the rain? Drove to the nc line and decided against it. If was 22yrs old again I'd be all about it but, I am getting soft in my old age. I won twenty bucks for getting up at 5am from my wife and her friend who said I won't do it when I got in after midnight. Would love to go some other time, maybe next weekend. I hope I'm not the only one who chickend out this morning!
