Pisgah / DuPont conditions for this upcoming rainy weekend 5/29

With the impending rainy weather, what say the locals about trail conditions this coming weekend? Will it be a nasty trail-damaging slopfest, or do they drain pretty well?

Most of our trails here drain pretty well but conditions will depend on how much rain is dumped on us tomorrow and Saturday.

DuPont seems to do better than Bent Creek and Pisgah proper depends on where you ride.

We will be able to answer your question better on Sunday.

Me and my buds have a trip planned to camp/ride this weekend. I hate camoing in the rain, and if it's too muddy to ride we're going to cancel. It's a 7 hour drive for us so we're not too interested in risking it. What do y'all think?

There is a "chance" of rain on Saturday.
I guess that is enough to scare some people away.

We were going to stay until Wednesday, there's a chance of rain everyday according to other weather forecasts I have been watching. I figured it would be to muddy to ride.

Looks like the chance of rain on Saturday has now changed to mostly cloudy and the sunny on Sunday has changed to possible showers. Other than that I see no rain in the forecast.

Most the trails here handle water well.

It rains a lot in the Brevard area and there are always some well known muddy spots. I even got rained on this am. Unless it is a multi-day deluge it will be ok to ride now that winter is all but gone.

Today is wet but getting 5 days of no rain around here would be like finding a unicorn farting rainbows. Looks like the next couple days though should be great.

You guys can thank me for the nice weather I'm bringing with me. We'll be there Wed - Sun and it looks like we're gonna get pretty lucky on the weather. I accept Dales Pale Ale and expresso GUs as payment.

    Way to jinx it.

Now when it rains you get payment in the form of dog poop in your seat tube.

I know, right? I would immediately like to retract my statement and repent to the mountain bike weather gods.

If you plan an extended trip, chances are you will get wet at some point.
Pisgah National Forest is considered a temperate rain forest.
We rarely go a full week without precipitation.

Brevard averages almost 67" of a rain per year.

    According to
Climate Brevard - North Carolina and Weather averages Brevard
