    Paris Hilton Rides Pisgah

[SIZE="3"]She won't be able to make it this week, actually...

But Pisgah Area Sorba is riding at 10 AM Sunday, meeting at the Fish Hatchery. While I hope the majority of you are supporting the 24 Hours of Pisgah this weekend, there will be the weekly club ride as an alternative.

    We will likely ride:

    Caney Bottom
    Daniel Ridge
    Butter Gap
    Long Branch

and perhaps more. There will be bail options midride. All skill levels encouraged.

    For directios/questions call 828-492-0203.

    Peace and Velo-Love,

    Joyrider

Sheer marketing genius. Now advertise that David Hasselhoff is coming, so you will get some attention from the local Asheville guys.

Speaking of being Politically Correct, you may not want to include Longbranch and Butter Gap in a SORBA group ride seeing at how those are seasonal trails that aren't open until October 15th... Kinda puts SORBA in a bad light, when they start poachin' trails for group rides! just something to think about

Butter gap and Longbranch are no longer seasonal. Just rode these trails 3 weeks ago. Check out the new map.

To my knowledge butter is still seasonal. Just only the section that goes thru picklesimmer fields. Thats the way it has always been. The route that Mike and the SORBA group is gonna take does not go thru Picklesimmer fields. So It's totally legit.

But to make it legit they will have to climb UP long branch. Most riders would prefer to continue on thru the seasonal section of butter back to the hatchery but thats just wrong. At least for a few more weeks.

Well, there only ended up being me, my hubby & Mike...and it was not for the chance of any Paris sightings I assure you!!!!

It was a gorgeous day and good company! We only did Caney Bottom and Daniel Ridge...due to a couple mechanicals we called it a day, but not before enjoying what PNF has to offer in the way of just enjoying the outdoors on great singletrack!

Looking forward to the next adventure...

    Thanks Mike!

Although the newest map has Butter gap NOT being a seasonal trail, we didn't descend all the way down to the fish hatchery. We were not sure of the status of the 2nd half of Butter thru Picklesimer Fields, so we took long branch out to the 595 fire road. We started this part of our ride heading up 475, left to 471, left on 471D and then down Butter gap.

    Does anyone know for sure?

Butter gap and long branch are not seasional. your thinking of the the cat gap extention that runs from the bottom of picklesimmer to the fish hatchery that is closed right now , so you are stuck riding back up long branch which is really a better ride anyway. there is usually a ton of hikers on the section from picklesimmer fields to the hatchery anyway.
Have you been making it out to any group rides? I've not gotten to go out on sundays for a while.

Number one rule in the forest. Signage always rules. Maps can be wrong and rangers give tickets, take away bikes, forest privilages based on signage.
Butter Gap and Long Branch according to their signage open year round denoted by a bike.
Cat Gap = just b4 Picklesimer Fields to the Fish Hatchery marked as seasonal open Oct 15th-April 15th

Just to get you guys salivating there has been rumor from Ranger Randy Burgess himself that seasonal trails may one day be opened year round. Could be good, could be bad. Could cause more Perry Coves.
