ORAMM pre-ride (not the whole thing) Sunday

Me and one other slow guy will be riding part of the ORAMM course on Sunday if anyone wants to join us. We will be in Old Fort about 9:30 or so, depending on how long it takes to eat pancakes at the Moose. I'm thinking CC Rd. to BRP to HBR to Kitsuma.

Post up or shoot me a PM if you want to come along. Like I said, the pace will be casual for most people. My race pace = most people's casual pace.

I did the Jarrett Creek and CC Rd. sections last time, so I want to try to get in the BRP and Heartbreak this time around.

Looks like we have a crew of 4 or 5 coming. Let's plan on 9:30 at the regular ORAMM start line, which I hope I can find once I get into town. My number is 864-621-6146 if anyone needs to call or text me in the AM. I hope at least one of you guys knows where the turnoff of the BRP to Heartbreak is.

I just noticed this on the ORAMM web page:

"Please note that firearms are not permitted in certain areas."

I know this is a tough course, but I never thought of bringing a gun to a mountain bike race.

Well, never bring a mountain bike to a gunfight. Or something like that.

We had a good crew out there today. Went up CC to the Parkway and then down Heartbreak. I had not ridden Heartbreak in years. First it tries to kill you with rocks, then it gets to be about 8" wide with rhododendron smacking you from both sides. Then it tries to throw you off the side of the mountain multiple times. Not really a trail you can let go of your brakes much on. And Curtiss Creek is still hard.

Hey Mike - nice to have met you! Yup - it's a climb, but the awesome views are the reward. Catch you in a couple weeks!

Good riding with you guys Sunday ,couldn't have asked for better weather. Hopefully some of the new trees down on heartbreak will get cut back, could create some bottlenecks race day.

Just give Sam or Jeremiah a small chainsaw to put in their jersey pocket and they can cut them out for the rest of us..
