Not too much in the immediate area, but there is plenty not too far away. To the north you have the Rocky Knob bike park in Boone, there is Kerr Scott in Wilkesboro.
You also have Kitsuma towards Old Fort and Black Mountain which you can add Toll Road and Heartbreak. Some other notables too. I'd brink the mountain bike,, lots of great riding in the area if you are willing to drive a little bit.

If you are willing to travel up to an hour than I would say Mountain Bike.
Lots of good trails 30 min to an hour away.

    Or just bring them both.
Just stick it in granny and start grinding.

226A is a nice descent and SR 80 is a fun climb only problem is linking them up US 221 can be a biitch on a bike. Bring both but I would favor the road bike in that area.
