Ending Bracken Mt ride at Dugan's...getting back to camp?

Some of us RDU flatlanders are talking about getting in some seasonal trail riding this fall and the idea of finishing off a fish hatchery area ride with Bracken Mt is appealing. I've been all over Pisgah, but not Bracken Mtn trail yet. I've certainly never ridden from Dugan's back to DR campground. Is this a really bad idea or no? Looks like there is ample greenway to get to the tents without too much road riding. The trick will be to remember the beer at the campsite and to put down the pint glasses before things get out of hand.

We are in "save the date" mode right now, but just in case this turns into a big trip with mega logistics to accommodate different skill levels, I need to get some ducks in a row.

Not a bad idea at all, depending on your state after you leave the pub I'm pretty sure this is exactly what they designed it for. In town I'd take W. French Broad to Railroad Ave. to where the greenway starts (unless they extended it?'s been over a year since I did the ride). And remember it follows Poplar St. for a short distance up ahead. Then take the greenway all the way back to the Eastatoe trail across the highway @Lowes, and that takes you right into the campground. More or less level the whole way.

    Have fun!

Thanks! That's what I was hoping.
Nice to know the option exists.
