    Charlotte conditions?

I am going to be in Huntersville this weekend and will have my bike.
    How are the conditions?

I have riden the White Water Center and Fischer before, would like to get up to the mountains but I am not sure I will have time and I really do not know my way around up there.

Thanks for any input. Just excited to pedal, we still have over 2 feet of snow here in NY and I just need to ride.

Weather is looking great for the weekend. It's rained over the past day, but conditions should be good by Saturday. Next two days are going to be sunny and in the upper 60s/low 70s.

Check out Lake Norman State Park (Itusi trail system), just up I-77 from Huntersville in Troutman. If you want to take a road trip and get close to the mountains, head further up I-77 to Wilkesboro and check out the trails at Kerr Scott Reservoir (Dark Mtn, Overmountain Victory, and Warrior Creek). Both Lake Norman and Kerr Scott can be a day of riding if you wish.

Thanks, should be there by tomorrow, hopefully get a ride in. I just don't want to hit any closed trails.

Keep an eye on Tarheel TrailBlazers Charlotte's Premier Mountain Bike Club, they have all Charlotte-area trail closures on their front page. It's a great resource. Kerr Scott tends to close less due to rain, but my guess is that most trails will be back open tomorrow. The rain tapered off early this morning and it's been dry since.

OP, you could drive about an hour east of Charlotte and check out Uwharrie. It's about as close to mountains you can get in the area.

It's been wet and grey for the last 3 days, sun came out this afternoon. It's going to take a few days for the trails to dry, hopefully by this weekend it will be dry enough again to ride.

URE is good but if your only in town for the weekend check out Rocky River Trail. Its a bit of a drive from Huntersville but probably the best the area has to offer.

    Warrior Creek is rad too.

Warrior creek is a good choice. Trails around here will hopefully be open by Saturday. Lake Norman State Park is another good choice.

How is the White Water Center? I've been up there to raft, but never ride.

The WWC is pretty good. They've added some new trails including a flow section on the lake loop side. The east main trails are completed and have added about 3 more miles of trail.
