    Charleston, SC area rides?

I'm spending Xmas with family in Charleston, SC area and am debating on bringing the crossbike w/ slicks to join a road ride or two, or the new mtn bike-I don't think there are any major trails in the immediate area, but reading about the FATS system has me thinking about a day trip to ride there.

Any Charleston area riders here that may be interested in a day trip to hit FATS somewhere around Xmas? Is it worth a 6 hour round trip drive for a day (half day more likely) worth of riding??

I imagine the weather about then will be iffy/cold, but coming down from Michigan, as long as it is reasonably dry and no snow, I'm cool with that-

    Thanks-

    Marrington

Do a search on here for Marrington. My wife and I ride there every Thanksgiving. No worries about snow in Charleston or Augusta.

It is worth the ride to FATS. There is plenty of single track that will keep you riding all day. Go on a Sunday so that you wont be shot by hunters. http://www.sorbacsra.org/.
