    Bent Creek Paving Alert

They are asphalting the dirt roads to the spillway (pier) and lake parking lot. Should be done by Friday. Very weird to see.

Also weird - the folks out walking their "horny dog". It was a goat! Off leash, at that....

Lots o' construction going on at NMR campground too. They've tied up some of the parking and closed everything down. And they also "fixed" the landslide on Wash Creek Road/5000 -- if you can count dumping a metric crap-ton of rocks down a hillside a "fix."

THe forest answers the call of nature and protecting the valuable resources of native aquatic and plant life by making sure they get an unfiltered, high pressure dose of oily runoff on a daily basis.

Nothing but the finest flood waters off non-permeable surfaces for our fishies...yessirree!

I can't wait to ride all the trails with on a Trek Madone equiped with racing slicks. I bet I can knock off a bunch of time on greenslick once it is paved.

I am sure all the handicap folks will be thankful for the paving since that is the only vehicles allowed to park at the pier. Bet you the road to the beach parking lot is next. At least it is one less road to waste fuel on a motor grader every year.

I assume the paving work is camp ground related, but haven't bothered to ask. Like Smoke says - get out yer long boards. I was also thinking handicapped accessible, strollers, roller blades and that you'll be able to fry your fish right in the lot next summer. Then I saw a couple of more options....

Weird sightings continued: A guy (khakis and dress shirt) riding a hand powered recumbent on my trip to the transfer station. On the way out - passed a fella on a big wheeled Uni.

We just have a really cool PAVED Green Way along the river.

Edit: My pic montage didn't work - there was a recumbent and a fixie in there. Use your imagination.
