Anyone Recommend a nice short hike in the Pisgah Ranger District?

Well I'm not much of a hiker typically. I just find myself looking at berms and roots on the trail and wondering "why am I not on my bike right now?"

However, my sister and my girlfriend have expressed interest in seeing why I love this area so much and neither of them ride. I'm relatively well versed on most of the best MTB trails in the area but can anyone reccomend a short, preferably scenic hike in the Ranger district? I was thinking maybe 3-5miles. I'd also be open to Dupont if people think you get more neat stuff to look at per mile! Maybe a nice waterfall or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Moore's Cove down from Sliding Rock is hood but maybe too short. Johns Rock or Looking Glass Rock for mor of a challenge.
He/she who works the trails does so in their own image.

    Speed just slows me down...

If you're hiking, why not try hiking only trails? Mountains to sea or art loeb come to mind.

The North Side (of Looking Glass) trail is one of my favorites. In a little over a mile, it takes you down across and along a babbling brook, then gradually up, through the forest to a short boulder field, then to the base of steepest, tallest and and most impressive rock face of the Glass. If that's not enough exercise, you can hike south along the base of the cliff to view more of the stone tsunami.
