Any riding around Myrtle Beach, SC??

My wife is looking ar planning a trip to Myrtle Beach mid June with the in-laws. Im sure before it is over I will need a break. I thought about dragging the mtb along if there was any good riding.I would also be open to a rental if anyone knows of a good spot for that to save the trouble of bringing mine and having to find a place to keep it. Any help or info is appreciated.

Nope. Just leave the bike at home and plan to eat fried food and drink lots of cheap beer.

Sorry about posting this. I looked through older post first looking for something related to this and didn't find anything. Now that I post it I see similar post at the bottom. Looking through them now for info.

This is all I have found...Brunswick, NC. Not too far depending on where you are staying.

I would skip the idea of riding in Myrtle Beach and negotiate a couple days with your wife here in Asheville on the way back.

Either that or get up early in the morning one day and drive the 3-4 hours to FATS if you can get away for the entire day.
Just stick it in granny and start grinding.

There is riding in the general vicinity -

    Myrtle Beach Mountain Biking Trails

My guess is the closest trail is Jackson Bluff in Conway. I've not actually ridden it, but I suppose it beats jogging on the beach. If you happen to be in North Myrtle, there are some trails in the Wilmington area, which is just over an hour away.

That said, you're best option still might be to eat at crappy buffet restaurants and drink as much Bud Light as possible.

    Bud Light?

I am sure they sell real beer in Myrtle Beach and not just that fizzy yellow piss people try and pass off as beer.

Horry County Bike and Run Mountain Bike Trail and Park
I ride there 2-3 times a week, just rode today, actually. Just under 7 miles of trails with quite a few smallish climbs and a 30 footer. It's actually a very good trail and you'll be surprised it's at the "beach". Be aware that there are runners out there sometimes too, they run in the opposite direction, generally.

Brunswick nature park is another option, though about 1.5 hours away. I ride there occasionally.

Thanks for the info and replies. I prefer yuengling beer when available in the area. I use Bud Light as a back up plan though.

Yuengling will fit the cheap beer bill just fine!! You'll be in good shape.
