Hey. I have known this gnome to get around, if you know what I mean. Last I heard he had been with 3 people in 1 day. Might be time to get tested...

Maybe my favorite post ever. Especially that last pic.

I'm not allowed to post pics yet so I did the work around.

The Gnome wanted to go back on Slate Rock. It must have had a good time there. Sam is located in some small pines to the right of where this pic was taken, near the edge.

The gnome was last seen shuffling up hill to the right at this intersection:

I followed him up to the next turn:

Where he spit at me and set up camp behind a rock off to the right...nasty little bugger:

    (first intersection hint: P36, 2010, stage 1, CP3)

Hmm...I guess salmansp did list the intersection. I didn't see that earlier, and I actually thought it was more fun not knowing exactly. I had a good time looking for it.

All the info for determining the exact location is already in my original post, but since it appears I'm supposed to spell it out...

    The intersection is 140a / 5031

    Current Gnome location,
*from the parkway, down Big Creek to the second river crossing. Stand on the big mossy rock in the center and look downstream. You can see the gnome chilling on the river right side.* Viva la gnome.

    Hanging with the Gnome.

Shop ride went to Big creek last night. Had a great time. On the way down we found the Gnome fishing and he called out for a ride.
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimimeg/6079642218/" title="IMAG0739 by jimimeg, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6210/6079642218_f1d44c5a98.jpg" width="299" height="500" alt="IMAG0739"></a>

Then Sam got his first flat.
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimimeg/6079636658/" title="IMAG0753 by jimimeg, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6195/6079636658_9f9e89b14c.jpg" width="299" height="500" alt="IMAG0753"></a>

Then Sam got his second flat. There was a whirlwind of activity as we changed it while the Gnome waited (impatiently).
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimimeg/6079095235/" title="IMAG0750 by jimimeg, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6087/6079095235_77bb6b8c84.jpg" width="299" height="500" alt="IMAG0750"></a>

It did give us time to share a few cold brews, though.
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimimeg/6079637900/" title="IMAG0747 by jimimeg, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6066/6079637900_a4cd15b6aa.jpg" width="299" height="500" alt="IMAG0747"></a>

Then Sam got his third flat. Which results in the Gnome instructing Sam in how to do it right.
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimimeg/6079103395/" title="IMAG0743 by jimimeg, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6071/6079103395_cb65994805.jpg" width="500" height="299" alt="IMAG0743"></a>

    And more beer.
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimimeg/6079099199/" title="IMAG0745 by jimimeg, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6190/6079099199_9b82357d4f.jpg" width="500" height="299" alt="IMAG0745"></a>
Which was good, cause it put a smile back on his face!

Then as we finished Big Creek the Gnome hollered out to pull over for a pee. As he peed he shouted "How's the water In Hendersonville?"
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimimeg/6079101929/" title="IMAG0754 by jimimeg, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6195/6079101929_d3e392b760.jpg" width="299" height="500" alt="IMAG0754"></a>

Then as we finished Lower Trace he spied a great fishing hole and asked to be dropped off. He was already casting his line as we pedaled away.
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimimeg/6079108505/" title="IMAG07592 by jimimeg, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6209/6079108505_dd1c6eb9e7.jpg" width="500" height="299" alt="IMAG07592"></a>
The Gnome will ready for a new location real soon. Go say hi, and happy trails!

    gnome!

From lower trace, I took Sam to Hardtimes connector/the road to reunite him with the Picture game. Reunited, and it feels sooo good!

Stopped here for a refill on water and for Sam to cool off a bit.
Then back up to Bent Creek Gap..

Good thing I brought that beer, it turned out to be a bit of a ride! Sam, with his party beads decided to stay up there on Bent Creek gap, on the Mills River side of the graffiti tunnel.
    ..

    Fun times! Thank u, Pisgah!

No longer at the gap. Stashed him in my jersey and brought him back down onto the proper-side of the ridge. After a shaky ride down the hill the gnome needed to take care of a little paper work and grab some water. We obliged. After our quick pit stop we drug him up the hill a little ways. He is now at the intersection of Ingles Field and the Ingles Field Connector. Tucked up under a log right behind the sign on the right of the trail as you head towards 5 points. I ran into jthompso on the way out so he may or may not have moved him.

Be sure to grab him early tomorrow I cant imagine he will stay there long! Fun to finally meet up with the little rascal!

    Great Game!!!
