4 wheelers on Jim Branch trail 10-1

I was climbing up Jim Branch trail Tuesday October 1 and 2 guys on 4 wheelers were coming down the same trail. Don't think they were Forrest services employees and they weren't interested in stopping to chat. With the government shut down of state parks,I'm sure OHVs will try thier luck in the park without fear of being caught. Keep your eyes open...

Yup, it will happen until the realize that law enforcement are still considered essential.
It will make for an interesting hunting season too, I am sure.

    Dang, that sucks!
How big of a set do you have to have to poach trails on motorized vehicles?

Maybe it's time to carry a small camera and report these jerks
Or strap on a Go Pro and get some footage

Not sure if this was the case, but they have rescue training events sometimes there (mostly based out of the field at Guion Farm). I have seen them use ATVs for those training events. So it may have been legit.

There is no State government shutdown. State parks and forests are unaffected, and even in National Parks and Forests law enforcement rangers are still on the job.

Seen a guy come off the road and hit the trails off the Cornmill Shoals Entrance at DuPont riding a Ducati Multistrada once.

Several points... 1. It ain't a state park--it's state forest. 2. Although the Fed is shut down, NC isn't. 3. NCFS employees who use an ATV as part of their job are required to renew their ATV operator's cert every three years; this week DSRF is the site for ATV training. You'll also see ATV tracks on Briery, Twin Oaks, and several other DSRF trails. A couple dual-sport motorcycles are also part of the training, and some military (NC National Guard?) folks are also taking the training...
