2011 Sustainable Trails Conference- Asheville NC

The PTBA 2011 Sustainable Trails Conference will be held in March and we return to the lovely town of Asheville NC. Asheville is a hotbed of trail activity and there is just about every kind of trail you can imagine within 1hr radius of town.

Info on the main conference can be found here:
    http://www.trailbuilders.org/conference/index.html

There are many great pre and post conference workshops and info on those are found here:
    http://www.trailbuilders.org/conference/workshops.html

There will be a fair bit of mountain bike trail content during the main conference, sessions include: Flow Trails, Technical and yet Sustainable Trails, Dealing with Illegal Trails, and Risk Management for Trails and Bike Parks.

This is a great opportunity for education and meeting new friends. Some of the best learning happens just by being able to spend time drinking beer with professionals and other avid trail builders.

The conference is open to all who are interested or have a responsibility with trails: land managers, non-profits, land conservancy staff, trail advocates and volunteers etc.

Please consider joining us in Asheville and making this a great conference.

    Update

We have added a new workshop on Rock Armoring:

    http://www.trailbuilders.org/conference/Armoring.html

We are also pleased to announce that Dafydd Davis from Wales will be our keynote speaker. Dafydd developed some of the best mountain bike trail centers in the world including Coed Y Brennin. I had the opportunity to visit Wales in 2009 and rode many of the trail centers and was blown away at the trails there.

The whole conference is looking good and I look forward to seeing some of you there.

    Woody
