    Drop
Got a Drop 2003. Like it so far. But they really upped the anti with the 2004s. Much better value for money.
Upgrading to 6" travel link. Not too happy with the 5" Junior T.
    May PUSH the Vanilla R.
    How are you enjoying yours?

    yeah
I got one-it is pretty good. I had millions of crank problems  (cause of sqare heads or whatever) so I got a ISIS Giga-its beautiful. Yeah the shocks are great and everything too. I'm only 14  , but I swear I will be a pro when I get older thanks to Norco. I have only taken 2 or 3 foot drops with my Norco though. I am getting an '05 Atomik or Fuse as soon as they come out and I will be able to do a number with those. :) :D

    Started out on a Norco
My first serious mountain bike was a '91 Norco Kokanee. Flourecent lime green...my god what were we thinking...lol  Now I'm currently riding an '04 SIX. Though the only thing that resembles a six is the frame. Highly tricked out with Dangerboy, Race Face, E.thirteen and a Push'ed Vanilla RC. Oh, and I just added an '04 888r. All the components that I replaced on the six were done to upgrade the DJ frame that I'm building. They didn't break or go to waste. Well, the bottom bracket and stem did break, but other than that it's all COOL!

    Thanks man.

When I got it i figured i'd never have to do anything to it...It was perfect.
    But...
Upgradeitis is a serious illness and should be treated with lots of burrly anodized bits of aluminum. ;)

Here is the list soooo far.

    '04 888r
    Push'ed Vanilla RC Race Works
    Dangerboy levers and stem
RaceFace Evolve DH crank and BB
    E.thirteen DRS chainguide
    Easton Cully pedals
    Gazza 2.6 on the front

Got my Norco Six straight from Jason at Feed the Habit. It was used, but it cost me $1800 free of shipping and his crew fixed it up so it looks and runs more or less perfectly. The bike is amazing, but I wish they put on 2.5 inch tires instead of the 2.3's so that I wouldn't have had to buy them myself. They also should have given the option of the 66RC instead of the VF. The VF is a good fork, but if you're gonna offer an upgrade, offer something much better than what it's replacing so people will buy it. I'm still very happy though. Here's my baby:

    New Six One
Just went and bought myself a new 2006 Six One, I was looking at the Shore pretty close, but the Six fits my riding a little more.
I did upgrade the Six's rear shock to the DHX 5, and put the Mavic Deetrack wheels on it. I should have it by Wed.

Right now I ride hard tail, KONA Hoss, and a Specialized Big Hit.

I am riding a Fluid 3.0 and have actually been having some issues that I wonder if can be fixed. As you can see from the pic I put a float rl on it and it raked out the rear linkage and causes nasty chain suck into the bottom bracket. The pooper is I love how this thing rides and don't want to change it back to how it was. Anyone have any suggestions? Can I upgrade the rear linkage to properly accept a longer eye-to-eye rear shock? From the pics I am seeing the rear linkages look very similar between all of the models. I recently upgraded to an ultegra rear deraileur, ultegra cassette, and blackspire chainrings up front and that didn't help a bit. I just don't want to give up the travel or the granny gear :(

Nice bike dude!!! how much does it weights?

I have a Six 2005 and I love it, it tips the scale on the 41lb, though.

Given that all the Norco guys are in here, I have some questions for you guys:

I managed to break the derailleur hanger and lost half of it. I live in Mexico and there’s only one Norco distributor in the country. He´s several hangers lying around but he doesn’t know which one is for the Six 2005. I think I could recognize it if I look at it, but is better to be sure. So here are the questions.

Which hanger does the 2005 Six use? Is it shared by other Norco bikes? Is it the same as the Six 2006 (I doubt it due to the TA on the 2005)? Hope you can help me guys, I’m missing the summer rides due to this situation.

    Thanks,

Mine is a 17" frame. I actually bought the frame and then built it up from there. Previously I used to own a 96 Kona Kiluea which I had also "tweaked". It was actually lighter than my Team Issue but it did not climb nor handle as well. The Team Issue seems to be tighter feeling with more precision.

I just finished rebuilding an old Sasquatch (full rigid) at the shop... it was actually destined for the bin until I pointed out the frame was double butted chromoly and really in excellent shape. When did the Sasquatch come equipped with Cantis anyways?

My guess was that it was a very late 80's model and more likely dates to the early nineties.

We just received an Atomik and are just waiting for a new rear hangar so we can get this monster up and rolling. The best part of this is that we'll be giving this bike away to some really lucky kid.

I'm from edmonton, alberta and Norco hardtails are wildly popular around teens just getting serious about riding. Almost all of my friends ride their north shore hardtail line (Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Manik etc.) I was riding my 04 bigfoot until i bought a Big Hit last year. I still ride my Norco though because its so dam fun to ride. They put out a good product and are popular here in canada, how do the sell in the states?

It's been kept in pretty good shape over the year's and has a nice parts spec on it, Fox Vanilla RC shock, the fork is a 2003 Slider with 152mm of travel, its the TPC+ version rather than the SPV  , Supra N wheelset, 2.3'' Nokian Gazza in the rear and a 2.6'' in the front, Cane Creek STS headset, Hayes 9's, Hussies and a chain guide, Expedo flat pedals (very nice BTW-definately my pedal of choice) SRAM X.9 shifter and derailleur, PC99 chain and 9spd Cog.
The Titec extention seat post is a good thing to have for these kinda bike's.

I have a norco, But I don't like the way the seats are positioned. For some reason they are too close to the rear shock. And when moved down they can really damage the shock. Does anyone have this same probelm?

You have a telescoping seat post (post within another post) You lower the seat to what you normally lower it to, and if it sticks out further then the seat stem, you cut enough to ensure the seat post doesn't extend further.

just cos i was gona get one in a week or so and need to know how much it can take cos i ride hard downhill and freeride stuff.so any feed back would be great.
    cheers

Norco's from what i've seen so far are built like tanks. I have yet to hear anyone cracking a frame. Shocks are set to riding style, so if you're bottoming out, then you don't have them set right for your riding style. All other components are just that, components that everyone else uses. The only thing you have to worry about is the frame, and like i said, i haven't heard much about norco frames cracking.

I decided to part out my XC hardtail for the last time and build up a more FR oriented hardtail to be used as the backup trail bike, winter trail bike, bad weather commuter, jumping, etc...basically a beater bike. My LBS gave me a smoking deal on a 2006 Norco Manik frame so I went ahead and ordered it two Saturdays ago. I got the frame last Thursday evening and built it up that night. For a shakedown, I used it to commute to and from work on Friday...it was fun for hitting stuff on the way but not the ideal bike for a 60km round-trip commute. Since then, I have gotten in a few rides and discovered a few things: definitely need a chainguide; this thing does not climb well but loves to descend; it's easy to throw around; and it loves drops and jumps.

Just the other day I got a guide off of a buddy and it has been great...just a cheap guide but I can't complain because it was free...

Picked up a NOS 06 Storm yesterday. Nice bike, and got it for a steal (over $200CDN off list). It's too bad Norco decided to neuter the Storm for 07 (Acera/Alivio? WTF? 06 is Deore across the board)

I just bought an 07 Norco Rival. I'm not a hardcore biker so I didn't spend too much money but so far the bikes great. It's real smooth, has nice suspension and good breaks.

OK I'll have to double check this as we ordred 2 and played around for the best fit.
    It's a Truvative Team Giga DH and it's a 68, 68E, 73 x 118mm.

The shell is 68 but I have a thick BB mounted chianguide that I use instead of spacers.
