manitou tower pro on shinobi
thinking of getting one, any thoughts
I know nothing about the fork so I can't comment at all about it's quality (I haven't owned a Manitou since the Mach 5 I had in the mid '90s). However, it looks like the max travel is 120mm right? If that's the case, that is 20mm less than the speced 140mm forks so it's going to make the bike feel more XC than stock. This is because your head angle would be about a degree steeper (besides the obvious decrese in travel). The overall handling would be quicker and you'll give up a little stability on descents. It's also going to lower your BB a little bit which is probably the biggest reason to stay with a 140mm fork since the Shinobi already has a very low BB (IMO).
