    SIR 9 maxle

I'm looking at purchasing a 2012 SIR 9. But the rear drop out is throwing me. I see ads that say
135 QR and others that say 142x12mm spacing with Maxle. I'm not sure which one it is.
Can I use a standard QR wheel with
    this Maxle

The new (2012) SIR is 142 x 12mm and the frame comes with a Maxle. If you are seeing 135mm x Quick Release, it's an older frame.

Many hubs (especially newer ones) can be converted between the two axle standards, although you will likely have to buy the parts.

Best way to tell the year is color, Tamale and Arctic White are the new frames with 12x142 rear axle and you will need to replace your rear hub or convert it if possible, If the frame is Niner green (Kermit) or Moondust it is the older frame with 135 rear hub spacing and your current wheels will work.
