    RIP9 Hairdtail Prototype at Interbike

Saw this in the Interbike forum, thought I should post it over here too. A cool looking, burly 29er HT. I think this bike is going to get some momentum...

I would ride one. Matches my riding style better than an AIR or MCR.

I can't figure it out either. Can't imagine it seeing the market. I actually think it looks cool though.
Me to my riding buddy, "Want to ride this afternoon?"
Him, "I can't. I have to chop this guys foot off at 2".

Being the huge Niner fanbois that those guys are, I can see them selling all of their custom 29 AM hardtails for one of these.

Yeah, this may bring Fo into the Niner fold...he is very impressionable and gimicky, I hear.

You own any bikes with a twisted downtube? Image is everything, Fo is always looking for The Next Big Thing, he's an early adopter. Speaking of which, I need to get a new tin foil helmet.

In 2002, I ran into my garage with my bike on the roofrack. It twisted the toptube. I think that counts, though I can only dream of obtaining the image Fo manages to maintain. I'm surprised he hasn't convince Lynskey to build a twisted Slingshot-like bike made of Hemp and gold strands.

Some people just like HTs... less to go wrong... great for climbing... I love my Air9, but rode some trails recently that had crazy climbs, but also steep descents... this RIP9 (assuming not built up too heavy) would have been perfect... Trail wasn't super rough to necessitate a rear susp, but the vertical made for something more slack on the descents... One a couple, had to really watch not to go over the bars

If they can fix the looks a bit... keep in mind this is purely proto... I think they have something here!
