Rip 9 RDO in Black - photos

The Niner distributor in the UK has photos of the Rip 9 RDO in black on their website. This is great news for those not fond of the original blue color.

The blue looks good but I would be pisssssssssed if I had shelled out for it only to have the black come out a month later. That frame looks amazing.

Main advantage of black is the ability to go with any color bling and have it look good.

I still like the Blue more.

I'm sure that a lot of the people that like black would have liked the logo's too be black as well.

Hey! I'd be happy with either color! But that black is pretty stealth looking. Coming from a motorcycle background, i really like the bright colors. If niner made the rip in a kawasaki like green, id be all over it! The rip9 rdo is one sweet bike. Too bad I just picked up the jet9 rdo...otherwise the rip very well could have been my current ride.

Muzz: you ever get your rip rdo you've been talking about? If so, do You feel it kind of overlaps the jet9 rdo setup w/ 120mm fork, or are they 2 completely different animals? Currently looking to add another bike to the stable that is more downhill friendly. Sorry if I went off topic!

    I did.

There is a big overlap, But there is also more on the DH end as well.

I will be writing more after My ride tonight, I'm heading out in 30 min.

    Prefer my Radiant Blue

This Blue on the RIP RDO is something to behold... Photos don't really capture the beauty it presents.... especially when the sun hits it.

When I ordered my blue RIP 9 RDO, I heard that a black frame was in the works. I've been riding mountain bikes for over 25 years. I've had 4 or 5 black bikes, but never one in Rally Blue. For me, it was a no-brainer. And as AZmtncycler says, the color really is unbelievable when it's sitting in front of you.

All that being said, choice is a good thing. Blue or black, the RIP 9 is a great bike.

I ordered a medium in black from my local dealer today. According to Niner they are already over sold and orders placed now will not be shipped until the end of May at the earliest.

Yes I'm sure you will love it.

In our ridding group I was the new kid on the block with the Rip9 RDO, Now 1 of them has a Rip9 RDO coming as well.

He has got 2x10 on his Jet9 RDO but is going to XX1 on the Rip.

Funny thing is he hasn't even asked to take my bike for a ride.

Yep, XX1 on the RIP here too! XT brakes, Thompson/Niner cockpit. Flow wheels (ill probably re-lace hubs to LB carbon rims)

Then there is the JET I just bought, and haven't even ridden yet.. LOL!

So I made a complete impulse buy, I have the Rally Blue with matching fork bike with XX1 build. I put one ride on it and realize it's not gonna be right for me. It's a size small.

PM me if interested in talking further.
