    RIP 09 vs 10

i am looking to purchase a rip frame either an 09 or 10. there does not seem to be any difference between them. can someone please confirm if there is any differences between the 09 and 10 RIP frames. also, my height is about 5"7' would you recommend a small or medium frame? thanks in advance!

Hi the frames are the same, the rear shock on the 10 has different valving & bost valve the 09 doesn't

    I have both.

At 5'7 you could ride both med & small but I think you will find most people at your height are on small.

I`m 5`7 on a medium and it doesn`t look too big on the pictures. I also like somewhere to have a bottle.

Mine is 29 1/2" inseam, use a 100mm stem. I really think a medium would be too big.

    Small is quick, stable

You don't just ride over it to cool down and kill two birds with one stone? Hmmm....

Early 2009's don't have the notched chainstay, and can have chain suck issues with Shimano brand cranks, due to the offset /Q factor. They seem to function OK/better with Truvative Stylo cranks with a 51mm+ driveline.

I'm curious, does the different valving and boost valve on the 10 make that big a difference? How do you like it?

With the boost valve the ride is a bit more plush & the lock out doesn't work as good, I never use the lock out & both are good.
