    question on mcr 9 setup

    Hi all-

Got one of the last XL MCR's. I have not built it up yet, but I stare at the gorgeous paint frequently. I'm coming from a variety of ancient v brake 29ers from 2003 with the old white brothers forks. I recently test rode a trek stache 8 (gasp) and I liked the plushness of the 120mm fox fork.

Anybody run a 120 on the mcr? Trusted shop owner says that both he and his fox rep (who I think also owns a niner) advise against doing this and that 100mm will be m ore than stiff and plush enough for me.

(Yes I know the new ROS 9er is what I should be waiting for but that's not an option right now)

I am 6'3", 210lbs. slow racer, ride mostly cross country stuff here in S Florida.

    thanks!

I just got one of the last 2012 MCRs in a medium. I am running a 100 Reba and the bike shop mechanic whose wife has this bike said that was what was recommended. Hope you enjoy it!
