PF30 bottom bracket install on carbon frame question

I'm about to install a PF30 BB on my new Jet9 RDO. I got the FSA MTB model since someone suggested it was better than the SRAM offering.

Anyway, the instructions for the FSA BB say to apply Loctite 243 or equiv before pressing the cups into the frame. Does that make sense for a carbon frame? What should I use?

I do mine dry.

But won't it get damaged on the way out of it creaks.

I've had creaking PF cups and rode them like that for a month or more (3-4 days a week) then replaced them with new cups and didn't have an issue. I'm sure though there could be wear in the BB shell if the cups are too far off the tolerance of the BB shell.

You would probably be okay to use TFE past up front, it is messy and sticky to clean up so I would only use it if necessary. I bought some but have been riding the Jet RDO since it has been out for almost two seasons now and never have used it.

You technically can press them in dry but there is a chance you may develop creaking. Niner recommends using pipe joint compound to prevent creaking on their CYA insert but we find it works very well on PF30 bottom brackets as well. It isn't very expensive and can save you a lot of hassle down the road.
Also pressing in one cup at a time with a bearing cup press (Park Tool HHP-2) will also ensure you won't develop any creaks.
These two steps may not be complete necessary in some peoples opinion but I can guarantee you no creaks if you follow them.

Why one cup at a time?

Doing one cup at a time ensures that they press in straight and that you don't catch the lip of the inner sleeve.
