    Niners being (gasp) ridden

    OK
We have enough pics of Niner's lent against garage doors, kitchen benches, sofa's, stair cases, brick walls, fences and just about any other inanimate object that there is.
It is time for a thread devoted to Niner's of all models, actually being ridden.
It is also a good chance to see how ordinary our Niner brother's and sister's heads are.

I will start with my ordinary head taken at a recent 100km race.

At the recent European 29er meet early this month. Niners were in the majority - there were two.

Soon to sport a new Niner fork!

Nice shots BSide...the top one looks like Eagle, second could be anywhere in the Rocky Mtn high country.

    Am I close?

    Wink Don't have many

Didn't you start another one of these last year, or was it the Cannuks? Anyways, don't have many of me as I normally ride solo or am just enjoying riding to much to stop and take pics.

1st one's taken on the 401 Trail Crested Butte, 2nd on the Monarch Crest trail and 3rd on Gini.

I have no idea who this dude is, but this pic was taken at a race close to my house (Leesburg Baker's Dozen)
Edit: race number plus google, this is Matt McClusky. He placed 23rd, i.e., he smoked 38 people with two legs.

Cool thread and all but seriously, I don't get the guys rocking one brand of bike and then wearing a jersey for another that has absolutely huge graphics - looks silly to me Personally unless someone's paying me to wear it I tend to want jerseys that don't have on sponsors stuff, especially hug ass like the SpecialED one.

    OUCH!

Some serious cat claws you got there. Check it out, Niner jerseys just came available, ordered two wednesday, better to have a jersey than go shirtless! But that's ok too.

Ride naked if it floats your boat, just don't wanna see your -airy arse anywhere near me!

I think the Niner jerseys are a bit ordinary looking.
I prefer the Salsa "team" kit.

Will stick to Twin Six though.

Hey LyNx; all my jerseys have disbanded pro cycling team names on them since you can buy them for next to nothing when the team disbands. ONCE, Phonac, Cofidis, etc.

that's what I did. He hooked me up when he was sending me my replacement front triangle that UPS destroyed. I also scored a couple of pairs of socks too. The cool thing about Niner is if you call them, one of the guys that actually handle your problem will answer the phone. Nice to talk to another mountain biker rather than a customer service rep that just "works there".

Wait a minute, how are you going to be an effective poser now? What are you, some guy who just rides his bike and doesn't give a F about which Fortune 500 companies you endorse?

Wichita Mountains, Oklahoma. We were looking for the 12 Miles of Hell, but didn't exactly come prepared. So we just went on a hiking trail and did more hiking than riding, still had some fun though.

Sorry to take this OT, but got to ask.........you're rolling a Maxiss jersey, but that front tyre doesn't look like any Maxiss 29er tyre I know of - what's the tyre? Looks like a skinny 1.95 type race tyre Is that a proto your rolling on? Can easily see an Ignitor on the bike next to you.

Hum Makes me sad, thought they had something in the works Guess they just look a bit small in the big Fox arch compared to a Reba like I run and the centre tread looks a little more solid, but that could just be wear and mud packed up. What PSI you run them at?

    Chama Trip

    Great Photo
Im hoping to get to Fruita again this summer and then hit the Lunch Loops in GJ.
Here are a few pictures from last summers trip to find the headwaters of the Chama river in NM and CO. We found the falls and huge rock gardens! Unfortunately there wasnt much ST....but it was the best Hike-A-Bike I ever went on

Last summer "July" was the first time I rode Fruita...we ripped through 22 miles of ST and it wore me out....Unfortunately I tried riding the Lunch Loops (again my first time) in GJ the next day and I only made it 2 miles before I said "UNCLE"

Im hoping this trip will be better

In nice words it stinks that you don't feel your best on days you are far away from home. This trip, I only felt like myself on one day out of 4. The first three days I could not do anything right while riding. The last day, the day the picture was taken, I was finally starting to ride like I knew I could.

It must have really been hot in July!

Here are a couple from my first race. In the first one, I'm the blurry thing in the foreground, getting the holeshot (all I got for now):

    Bonked.

I came dead last in the pro/expert class this weekend at a national enduro race.

I started pretty well and it just got worse and I bonked after 3.5hrs. Finished after 4.5 hours, a full 1.5 hours after the leader.

I sucked, but with 25 dnf`s I wasn`t the only one hurtin` on this tough course.

Some I loose, some I loose badly.

ps, I think a jet would have been easier on my body..... lots of full suspension bikes out there this weekend.

    No Niner yet

Here's a bear shot since I don't have my Niner yet. This is on the fire road to Broadcast Peak about 5 miles as the crow flies from the city of Goleta. My shoe is a size 13, so I'm guessing Mr. Black Bear would wear about a 10? I thought it was really cool to see this so close to town and in an area burned by the Gap Fire last summer.

Not much mileage logger when I ride. I normally just go and do 8-10 on the technical stuff. Today, I decided to go for a little longer ride and did 30 miles on the Air9. I know some of you will bang out 50-75-100+ in a day, but for me it was sort of nice to get out and hit 30 miles. Lower back and butt are killing me now..

Here's some shots of me at a 12hr race near Brisbane in OZ. Had my S.I.R. 9 for 2 and a bit years, and I don't plan on riding anything else anytime soon.

Oneniner1, you're cleared on runway 101. Stay on the glide slope and localizer until you reach your DH of 0.9 ft
