    My first Niner build.

Finally invested in a new bike. Picked up an Air 9 carbon frame on a good deal and built it up. Lots of first's on this build. Never built a bike, never rode a rigid or SS. Went from an entry level Gary Fisher to this.

Not 100% finished at the moment. Still need a half link in the chain. Having troubles getting it perfect. Front brakes on and rear line shortened. Also waiting for my new seat to ship to me.

That my friend, is an awesome setup What brakes are you using by the way? Im looking for a strong back brake than can lock up the tire ( I do wheelies and combos). Any suggestions? Thanks !

I don't have much experience with hydro brakes. My last bike had a set of mechanical disc brakes on it. I got a sweet deal on a set of Avid Elixir 7's so i put them on. The rear seams a little squishy to me but im going to have my LBS bleed them for me.

Yeah i did get it with the EBB. Nice invention, only wish it had full rotation. Seems like the spot that would getmy chain perfect is either where the bolt hits the cable guide in the shell, or the BB hits the cable guide. Not sure if the EBBII has the same issue.

Thanks ! Yeah I have been having the same prob with my Elixir 1's. I just stuck a syringe in the lever pumped it a few times. Its seems pretty okay now.

Yeah the light bulb finally turned on earlier today and i ended up taking the cable guide out. Took it out and got the chain tension perfect. Took the bike out this evening and it rode amazing.

The current Shimano brakes (SLX, XT, XTR) are excellent, and very strong. Use the Ice-Tech rotors.

Great build! MY A9c was my first 29er and I will never go back. My new DH rig was going to be 29er but I got a Smoking deal on the frame so 26er it is, for now.
I got some pretty decent Niners!
