Minimum seat post insertion - Jet9 Alloy

I'm riding a 2nd gen Alloy Jet9 (3rd gen - in my mind anyway, being the new one with the 145mm rear triangle )

Just wondering as I'm looking for a new post - whats the minimum insertion ? just checking as I currently have a 400mm post and one of the options is a 350mm which would give me about 85/90mm in the tube.

    Thanks

    ? They make a Jet9 with 145mm rear triangle.

    Do you mean 142x12 ?

If you have a 400mm & run your seat high why not use that ?

    How tall are you ?
What seat height do you run ? What frame size have you got?

yep your correct 142x12.. it was late when I posted - sorry

The reason for a new post is the offset of my existing post - moving the saddle forward has put the clamp at the very back of the rails. The reason for moving the saddle is that I had a fit done and the saddle was moved as part of the fit.

Me, I'm 6-2, frame is size L, and running saddle at 812mm (I have a long inseam, short torso) though this height is what the fit set it at I do adjust it down depending were I'm riding.

I would like more post in the frame, So would go 400 or 420mm myself.

    I'm 6 ft & run my seat at 800mm , Ride a Lge frame & use a 420mm post.
