Magic gear single speeding an Air 9 RDO?

Anyone at least tried this with theirs? Just wondering, since this would be the only way to run it as a single speed. Also wondering if there's a reliable way one could work out what kind of magic gear ratios would be possible?

http://eehouse.org/fixin/formfmu.php - That works pretty well for calculating the rations that could work. The only problem is that magic gears only work until things start to wear. Then you really need to add a tensioner.

You could also just run a tensioner from day one. Its only the EBB that you can't use on the RDO due to the BB shell design.

I'm fully aware that we can't tension the chain via the bb due to lack of any kind of insert in the carbon shell, which is why I asked about magic gearing...
As for the tensioner idea, I think it would be a sin to run one on that frame. Personaly there's no way I'd go that route. I guess I was hoping to hear that some people are running it successfully with a magic gear.
With Jenson having RDOs on sale right now, it was very tempting but I think the reality (for me) is that unless I was open to running it with gears too (which I'm not, at all) in case ss didn't work out, it's too much of a gamble.
Guess it's time to stop dreaming

I have a sub 20lb rigid EMD running a 32 20 that has the same geo. my recommendation is, do it get a good chain and you will have fun. I have ridden all winter in Washington Capitol forest mud 1-3 times a week and don't have any appreciable slack yet.
