To grease or not to grease... carbon Niners.

Niner Carbon frames, Headsets, BB's. What does Niner recommend? What do you do?

I've been trying to dial out a creaky HS for the last few days, and typically grease would fix the issue. However I've heard several people say that grease will harm carbon. However, in trying to find a carbon compatible grease I have (more often than not) found opinions that grease harming carbon is silly rumor of which no one knows the origin.

    Niner rider thoughts?

I've used grease in the headset cups and on the Praxis BB sleeve that I installed in my Air 9 RDO. I also used grease in the headset cups in my old Carbon Air 9. I had the carbon Air 9 for two years and there were no problems in the headset. I used it more as a water barrier but I'm sure it helped to eliminate any creaks. I also do the same for my carbon road and cx bikes.

To the best of my knowledge grease is harmless to carbon.

I have a mate who does the more complex jobs on my bikes. He is a Park Tool certified bike mechanic and works full time as a bike shop mechanic. He always uses grease or an appropriate anti seize for headsets, bottom brackets and seat posts in all frame types. For instance I would definitely use a bit of grease between carbon handle bars and an alloy stem to prevent creaking. I think Mr Harrington has spent too much time greasing his own pole.

Just bought a 9 Air Carbon, I have a Chris King PF-30 (metal body) bottom bracket. What you recommend to grease, finish line teflon grease, finish line anti seize or fiber grip?
