    Going from 160mm F/R to 185 FR on a RIP9

    So i need post mount adapters for the FOX fork up front and these

    For the rear?

    I guess im just not sure of the difference between IS and CPS mounts.

    Well.. i went ahead and bought two CPS mounts, on post for the front and one reg for the rear. If they dont work, at least ill have 2 awesome paper weights.

    yes..you need both a front and a rear to go from 160 to 185. For the FOX, you probably need the post mount. I just went from 185s to 160s to lighten things up a bit. CPS is Avids caliper positioning system which uses some cone and saucer washers on the caliper bolts to allow some adjustment play. Avid's adapters are designed to work with the CPS by using shorter adapter bolt posts to allow for the additional space for the washers. IS is just simply the standard for bolt size and spacing (i think).

    I recently bought a non-avid adapter and it does not work with the CPS (i have my own paper weight). So I suppose that avid adapters will not work other caliper brands.
