Fair price help: 2011 XL Air9 Scandium
Hey there - wondering if folks might help me figure out a fair price for my 2011 Air9. I am apt to just keep it, but i am on the fence... i was thinking $1500ish, too much?
Condition - I rode it hard through 2012 - frame has a fair number of dings and scratches that i feathered, primed and touched up with factory paint - but its not perfect. wheels, crank-ends, big ring all have dings - the usual stuff. pads are at about half - great pressure - fork needs annual maint...
2011 Air9 Scandium Tang XL
Reba Race fork - QR - chris king headset
Stans Crest with Hope ProII
New geax seguaro rear and close to new maxxis ardent front - both tubeless
XT crank - front and rear der - 11-34 cassette - new xt chain
2011 XT brakes w/non-ice tech rotors (160mm)
Thompson Post - wtb saddle - also have reverb for this bike
Thompson 120mm 0deg stem, easton havoc 725mm carbon bar - new wtb 2x loc grips
any help on a fair price is MUCH appreciated!
I think someone that knows that scandium alloy frames don't hold up over time would balk at $1500, especially when the warranty won't carry over. You may be able to do better if you part it out. Or keep it as a backup, that's probably what I would do.
Yeah - i figured the frame was the highly questionable part of the deal - i think i would have to consider the frame as a "throw-in" and the price is really for the parts. i appreciate the feedback.
I bought a used Air 9 about a year ago. 2012 frame, full XT drive train & hyd brakes, Stans flows, Thomson post and stem, niner alloy flat bar, fizik gobi saddle for $1670 delivered. I rode it hard for a year and it's been a great bike. I took a chance and bought it off of ebay. I think I got a good deal.
