Did you go medium or large Jet 9 RDO at 5'11"?

I enjoy my Niner Jet 9 RDO but I am wondering about a large. A bit more room. What size did you choose?

I am 5'11" and I ride a large. Have ridden a medium also. Can't say I noticed a big difference. I tend to like shorter stems (80-90mm) so the large works for that.

It all depends on the proportion of leg length to trunk length.

I am about that same height and feel most comfortable on a large.

I have a long trunk and short legs so I need the extra top tube length to make the reach comfortable.

I have a mate with the opposite proportions. He was riding a medium with a lot of seat post extension. His latest bike (Air 9 Carbon) he went for a large to reduce the seat post length required. I am not sure how he set it up but I assume he used a shorter stem than on the medium to compensate for the change of top tube length.

Medium is great for tight spaces but even with a 120mm fork is a touch twitchy; however, I use it mostly for racing. I thought a large might be more stable and give me more room to crank on the old pedals. Of course the downside would be a longer wheelbase creating a bike that doesn't do the tight stuff as well. I guess it is all preference. I need to go ride a large and see what I think. Fuzzy thought a medium was the right size as he rides a medium frame.

    At 6' I ride a large & my friend is 5' 11" & rides a Lge as well.

I have a friend who is 5'9" & rides a Med jet9 RDO & when I ride it, it feels quite small to me.

Do you have a set back post & what size stem are you running ?

What seat height do you run ?

I did a 4 hour ride with 9k of climbing today on a large Cannondale Flash today and it fit great. I have a 100mm stem. I bought the wrong size. Sucks! Oh well suck is life.

I'm 5'10" all arms and legs. I had a large Sir9 with a 90mm stem and didn't like it at all but absolutely live my Med. Jet9 RDO with a 100mm stem.

5'11 and riding a large Air 9 RDO with 110 RDO stem. There is no way I could fit a medium. Not enough seat post.

That's why I went with a Large in the hard tail but with the Med Jet9 RDO you get a 18" seat tube not a 16.5" like the hard tail frames. I wish Niner made the Med. hard tail in an 18".

I'm also 5'11. I ride a large EMD and a large Air 9 and I like it. Before I bought my Jet Carbon I had the chance to test a large and a medium. The large felt heavy, the medium was just fine. So I bought a medium Jet.
