    Converting Jet9Rdo ro 1x10

For my backyard trail I only need a single in the front and would like to simplify. I have done this on other bikes with a mount for a guide but I am not sure what is the easiest way to go from xx 2x10 to xx 1X10 on this bike. I will do xx1 on my next bike but I don't think the conversion is worth it on this. Let me know. Thanks

If you don't need the gearing xx1 provides 1x10 using a narrow wide front ring and clutched rear derailleur works very well and behaves very similarly to xx1.

On my J9RDO I am running a SRAM X01 30T crankset w/X0 type 2 derailleur and 11-36T 10sp. cassette. Very happy with this setup and not had any trouble with the Cascade climbs in Central Oregon.

I ran mine with an MRP1x and XT crank with a RaceFace SS 32t ring in the middle position and a 12x36 cassette for a few hundred miles. Worked very well.

Then I added the XX1 cranks and a used XO type2 derailuer without the chain guide. Worked even better. It was silent.

Now I'm running XX1. I don't really need the 42 out back with a 32 up front for my climbs but I like the gear spread of the XX1 cassette. It shifts up and down the cassette really smooth.

Ran it as a 2x10 all year and then converted. The only thing swapped was the XX1 for the XX crankset. Shortened chain one link, removed FD and front shifter and voila! Really loving this setup. 32t ring and 11-36 cassette w/X.0 type2 RD. Converting Jet9Rdo ro 1x10-image.jpg

I too am going 1x10 with a GXP direct mount Wolf Ring. Should be here today.

However, I am clearly a wimp sticking with the 26t I have on my 2x10 right now. I can't imagine going any bigger here in VT for the terrain I ride. 36t out back.

There are many good ways to go 1x

The XX1 crank is a good option.

FWIW, I have even run an XX1 cassette with 10 speed shifter & rear derailieur , Just using the 1st 10 gears & it worked fine.
I have a 6 Berth & 2 Berth Motorhomes that I rent out . They are based in Tauranga, New Zealand

Don't forget.. you can get this:

General Lee 11 40 Cassette Rear Sprockets Kit SRAM SRAM XX1 Low Cost | eBay

Which can take your cassette to 40t, to give you just a little more on that end.

Might be a good product for those trying to replicate the 1x11 on a budget. I'm planning on converting from 2x10 - 1x10 (32-40) with this over the winter.
