    single speed and rigid just built it up after about a year gathering parts

    running a Phil Wood BB with the White cranks 32 x 21 for now

    Here is my new to me A9C, 19lbs as you see it, but I could take 2 pounds off easy with lighter wheels and tires. I just recently became aware of the new Rock Shox RS-1 which would be the only fork I would consider for this machine! Perhaps when the prices get back into the realm of mere mortals!

    Just finished up my A9C build, very happy with how it came out!

    Went 32 X 20. Rear cog is by Chris King, would have gone with the Niner Cogalicious but was tired of waiting months and months while Niner kept changing their backorder dates.

    Front chain ring is a narrow/wide I designed and machined.

    Fork- Rock Shox Sid
    Bars and seat post - Niner carbon
    Head set - FSA
    And a full shimano XT group.

    just need to get some new pedals and a shorter stem!

    new '13 Air 9 alloy build

    Bought one of the closeout/discontinued Air 9 hydroformed aluminum frames from Jenson and built it up with existing parts. This is my 5th Niner frame.

    Hey bembry45, what length fork is that up front? 120mm? I just ordered an Air9 frame from Jenson and wondering what to put on the front.

    By no means am I an expert but the Air 9 all the way up to its carbon brothers is a serious XC frame. With that said I think you'll get the most fun & efficiency out of the bike with 100mm. If your looking for 120mm or bigger probably thinking the Ros9 little bit more of a trail oriented frame. Either way handling is great...incredibly nimble especially climbing over roots & rocks. Through axle's make a world of a difference. Make sure you post when you start building!!

    Are you running a 120mm fork? From your pictures compared to others I have seen of the Air 9 your bb drop doesn't look to low as your chainstay looks pretty horizonal to the ground.
    I know the newest Air 9 frame can take a 100mm - 120mm fork. I have a Rock Shox Reba Team with 20mm thru axle set at 120mm, but can be adjusted to 80mm or 100mm also.
