    Air 9 Build up

I have a good opportunity to pick up a gently used Air9 frame for not much money. Is a $1200 budget over the cost of the frame enough to build up a decent bike? Id like to go with a 2X10 drive train (cranks, BB, chain and Derailleurs), Reba fork and XT brakes. Wheel set? Brakes and Pedals, I can use off of my other bike. The rest, like bars, grips, stem will be specced out accordingly after the drive train and wheel set is priced and bought.

    THoughts?

I had mine built up at a local shop here.
    Everything was new:
    Air9 M frame(2013 frame)
    SLX 2x10 drivetrain (shadow+)
    XT brakes
    Flow EX Wheelset
    NobNic and RaRa tires(setup tubeless)
    Easton carbon bar
    Easton stem
    Thompson seatpost
    SID fork
    WTB Rocket V seat
    Ouray Grips
Flat pedals of some brand I can't think of off the top of my head
    Total:
    $2800

They were selling the 2012 frames for $599. They ran out when they were ready to build mine so I got a 2013 frame for the sale price.

    Love the bike.

    Hi Troutinco,

I'm also looking to get a medium size Air9 Alloy frame. How much was your frame? Does your shop have more size M?

    Thanks!

Ok, I picked up the frame today. The seller had a few components for sale as well. Race face 36t chain ring mounted to deore xt cranks and xt rear derailleur and shifter. Brakes and pedals, I'll pull off my other bike.

Now all I need is wheel set and tires, fork, shifter cable for rear, seat and post, 9 speed cassette . What else am I missing off this list.

Frame head tube is non tapered, can I put a tapered fork in it or do I need regular steerer? Recommendations on decent tubeless ready and appropriate fork are welcome.
