Is there a new Nicolai model?

On Facebook, someone, somewhere in Asia Pacific has tagged two pictures of what they are calling a 'Nicolai Ion-14' on Facebook so that they are showing up on Nicolai's Facebook page.

It's quite an odd looking frame, but it looks very definitely like a Nicolai, mostly like a Helius AM but with a completely different suspension layout (still a Horst link though). So it is either a new Nicolai, a custom one off or a very good copy (which if it were in China, wouldn't be unprecedented).

Anyone know anything? I will try to find a way of posting the picture here.

I would say its an 'Asia' special catering to their ergonomic demands.

That ion-14 is pretty slick looking. I had a UFO-DS back in the day and it was a neat bike for its time but too darn heavy and a bit off on geo for a modern bike. I bet the ion-14 will be quite a bit lighter and looks to have retained the short CS and snappy handling. Also digging what appears to be a slightly lower BB since this bike's intended use will be on the 4X/DS track and dirt jump lines.

I have a Tazer-VP built up right now that's very similar to this bike and it's just a riot on the jump lines and even for trail riding.

Looks about right for 4X, except for the coil shock.
