How does the dropout work? Is that a bolt through from the inside of the seatstay?

ejls2 , yes you are right, amnd a smll piece will be removed and you may slide the belt through the slot

Thanks! It looks much better than some of the alternative designs I've seen.

I was really keen on getting an Argon CC with a belt drive but I tried a chain driven version and, while it's a brilliant bike, it's just too harsh a ride for my intended use (marathon XC). I'm trying to get something built up in TI instead but no manufacturers seem to be able to supply splittable dropouts

we have tried the FMXTB belt and it takes dirt and jump fairly easy, no chain , no dirt . no mess!

Belt drive is Stiff, tension is good maybe for a road commuting and fixed bikes will be nice? we are working on getting them now... that's when i receive my replies from the engineers from Nicolai... So far, they agree on them..

heres their reply that i really wana share!

What else can you ask for but to have the patience?

I think they would be great for commuting bikes. Maybe with an alfine it can take the tension? Good luck with the project!

    Beauty...

I'm still a bit hesitant on belt drives but sure I'd like the stealthy ride of one.

Anyone knows if the belt is any easier on the knees than the chain? Just curious... I don't know why that question popped into my head.
