    New Build Helius CC

So now it's only 3 weeks until I go and pick up my new frame from Si @ Nicolai UK.

I've gone for a Medium CC in Candy Red with Silver graphics.

The build will have a fair few bits transfered from my current CC, most of the drive train and brakes.

Brakes will be SLX at the moment
XT 9 speed shifters, cassette, front & rear mechs
SLX or Race Face Evolve XC cranks - maybe 2x9
ZTR 355's on Hope Pro II's

Sat in my spare room are:

    Joplin 3 lever model
    Easton EA70 Monkey bars
Marzocchi 44 Micro Ti QR15 forks
    Thomson X4 90mm Stem
Hope Headset, Spacers, Seat Clamp & Rear Skewer in Silver
Pro Single Ring XCR Lock Ons
    Charge Spoon

Just need to buy some cables - will be XTR - and then it's build time.

    Pics to follow

Tell me about the cc. What is the travel, expected weight, bb height, etc and is it a good trail centre bike ?

Well, the BB is 14mm above the axle line - so in the region on 13.75"

Travel will be 140 up front, 67-68 deg HA. 1106mm wheelbase.

Weight wise I'm expecting 28lbs with the wheels i have, but down to 27lbs if I get new ones and some lighter brakes as SLX ain't light.

My current one is a great all rounder, so this one being longer, lower and slacker should prove to be even better.

I doubt any of that is news but hey, you asked ;-)

I'm 180cm or 5'10" with a 32.5" inside leg, the medium has a horizontal TT of 580mm Si pretty much the same as my medium Cove HJ and medium Genesis iO.

It'll be more than just a trail centre bike, it'll be my marathon - all day - epic - can't be arsed riding a HT type bike ;-)

    More bargains.

Forks arrived at the weekend, yey.
Just picked up a 65mm Easton Havoc stem for 18 off Merlin (just in case I fancy a shorter one)

Just gotta decide on brakes, then it's build ahoy

steve_b77: Sounds good mate, looking forward to seeing the finished bike, looks like the CC has slackened out somewhat? I always thought it was a steeper more XC race type frame.

Picked up the frame last night from Simon, and a very nice man he is too.

It has to be said the colour (candy red) is awesome. Also went for a DTSwiss SSD 190SL rear shock.

One question, as they shock is 200mm i2i and a 55mm stroke, I take it the max rear travel will increase a smidge?

    FRAME TRAVEL / 51 * 55 = REVISED FRAME TRAVEL

as long as the shock should've been 51mm ?

Thought as much, 55mm stroke gives (129/51)x55=139mm
