MTB project looking for your votes

    I have a request.
I cycle at Surrey Hills sometimes and it is a fabulous area. The National trust are considering creating some wonderful MTB projects on this site. I am excited by the provision of the facilities but even more so by the NT taking this attitude, a big departure from the past. They need lots of votes quickly to get it through. Please lend a hand (or a click). www.bovril.co.uk/revival

    More info here:

MTB Project looking for your votes .
Etherly Farm is a MTB friendly campsite at the foot of Leith Hill. The National Trust are bidding for a grant through the 'Bovril Outdoor revival' scheme to help build a dedicated skills trail on site. The grant will be part of a wider MTB initiative at the site which will include a new 1.5 mile single track descent to the site from Leith hill, showers, bike washes and many of the other facilities that are not on offer within the Surrey Hills. Back the bid (and the NT's progressive attitude to MTB) by registering your vote for 'Leith Hill' at the Bovril Outdoor Revival site. Spread the word through your social networking sites, twitter etc and help get this project of off the ground.

It is a bit of a faff to find the right bit. This makes it quick and easy:

'Skip Intro' - eventually you will see three windows. Where it says: find project. You can enter an area or postcode, type Leith Hill here.

This brings up a map in the centre of the page. The spade nearest the 'h ' of Cranleigh is the one you are looking for. Click it and it should bring up 'Etehrley Farm' project and click vote for this.

(You don't have to enter your address etc, just name and email for your vote to count)

Ranked 48th a few days ago and up to 29th now so please spread the word.
    Cheers
    Jeff

TLR you can be such a cock sometimes!

They came first for the Communists,
    and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
    and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
    and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

    Then they came for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

    i
'll always defend and speak up for the things i believe in.

are you suggesting i'm afraid of confrontation ?

i'll support local activities and efforts that require support.

i will not support something that may affect the opportunities that may develop on my doorstep.

why don't you let me pay your council tax bill for you - that would be so philanthropic of me wouldn't it ?

no offence, but it does not value my local scene and detracts from opportunities that may develop up heere.

    hope this clears it up.

TLR this island of ours is such a small place and mtb has such a tiny voice that any project no matter where is...... is local to us all and deserves our full support!

Are you seriously suggesting you wouldn't support a trail project which is outside 'your definition' of local in case it might affect projects near you?

That website would be better if you could search by type - but in my digging around I could only see one mtb project which is the one mentioned above.

Hi Guys , thanks for yor replies/votes.
I also feel that this is as much about raising MTBings profile.
With this goverment about to sell off 748,000 hectres of FC land I think we are going to have to scream from the roof tops to keep our trails , so any project that shows our numbers & intention to be counted has got to be worth voting for.
