no no no ... you just need to post your setups and complete build picture in the FR setup thread and keep us updated on your build here with more pictures ...

congrats! ... this was a frame that i considered a few months back as it was on sale, but i went with the new AM frame instead ...

    Congrats forky!

That pic reminds me of the day I got my frame - it looked very identical to yours except for the stickers which I don't have. The frame was so fresh and beautiful and it was a real pleasure to build it up. I'm sure you'll love the bike!

    *bangs head against wall*

Right. the most important bits of finishing kit arrived today. Namely, saddle, seatpost, seat clamp and headset.

The 31.6 seatpost doesn't seem to want to fit, the seat clamp definitely won't fit and the headset doesn't look to have that deeper cups. Could some of you please point out where i'm going wrong, if indeed i am?
    Heres what i got.
    FSA xtreme pro headset
Diabolous seat post 31.6 as quoted in the helius fr setup thread
    31.8 seatclamp

was gonna have it built by tomorrow now it's looking like tues till i can get the replacement parts. dammit.

seatpost should be fine. Seatclamp needs to be 34.9 not 31.8 and as far as I know the FSA xtreme pro doesn't come in deep cup anymore(at least it's not in my trade brocure anyway)

Seatpost is prob just stiff to get in altho i'd check the O.D. is infact 31.6.
The FSA extreme pro i had on my hardtail wasnt a deep cup insertion and as dipper says i dont think they do them, arent they 21mm?
I use a hope 34.9 on my nicolai.

headset was marketed as deepcup on an american site so grabbed one of crc. ah well. looks like i'm sending it back then. as regards the seatpost...well it doesn't look stiff or fine. it doesn't wan't to go in at all. and i don't wanna force it n knack the frame before i ride it.

nicolai really should pull their fingers out and provide a translated owners manual.

aye fella. hence the confusion as to why the damn thing won't fit. it's possible that crc labeled n picked the wrong part. *shrug*
another week of staring at an unbuilt frame awaits i guess

those of you who have helius' will, of course, by now know that i'm talking utter tosh
judicious use of some grease and a freezer and i've got it in. tight as a mouse's ear it was. so tight that i'm wondering whether to bother actually ordering a seatclamp the right size.

sounds odd. Nicolai seattubes are usually one of the most accurate and Rf posts are usually very good as well. The combination of the 2 is normally spot on.

    Hope Seatpost question

Hello. Im waiting for a helius fr frame (size XL ). What is the diameter of the seatpost.
Website says 31,6mm. Is this correct ?

Some larger Nicolai frames have a 30.0mm seatpost size.
