    Wow, Very Nice.

Can't wait to see the head to head tests against the ION ST. Low center weight of the gboxx v. traditional rear biased and single pivot v. horstlink. Let the debates continue. Guess we could just rate the winner by the largest grin after riding these back to back.

    Holy c--p!!!

Looks like I need to play more lottery games!

I wonder how wide the BB area is compared to an 83mm DH crankset?

In the medium-term hopefully something like Helius-CC/AM-GBoxx2-bastard, that weighs sub30lbs with air shocks, has about 140mm travel, is stunningly beautiful and with welded-in Gboxx, not bolted. I somehow dislike that solution, don't know why. It has to be very strong, otherwise they wouldn't put it on a DH bike, like the ION Gboxx.

Ah, and the re-introduction of silver-anodized. IMO no other finish shows those superb welds in all their glory.

    p.s. Sorry for off-topic.

Back on topic.... That GBoxx ION, gives me WOOD in my life....

whafe, if you can wait less than a year, a ti version of the g box might be available with 1kg less than the actual version ! Besides, there are still improvement to make to this g-box, that's why i'm waiting 2009 to buy my ion g-box !!!!
    Never enough singletracks !

This may be a silly question but are these GBoxx1 or Gboxx2 etc???

Is it still the Rohloff internals or the other one with less gears? If anyone can answer those questions I have some more...

Does the Rohloff solution have a future, or do the new versions have a good spread of gears suitable for all mountain and even XC type usage?

The GBoxx in the ION is a stage 2 lets say, in house Nicolai, it is not a Rohloff hub inside a GBoxx like my TFR.

From what I know, this DH version has 7 gears....

I am thinking that Nicolai will perfect this in the DH version, then progress to hit the XC AM market with a below 29 lbs GBoxx set up bike...

But I am with Samwell, wait for the Ti version..... Be like my take to the grave bike.....

I made contact with Falco at Nicolai today re any information that is available on the ION GBoxx. At present nothing is openly available. But Falco is at present preparing some information that will be open to the public so to speak.... This will be forwarded on so as we have access....

Falco did give me a link to some shots of the ION GBoxx in action, sweet pictures for sure.... The great pictures taken by Hoshi Yoshida of Nicolai....

    I saw that yesterday in agent's office yesterday,it's no.6.
They said that the first five are prototype, racing use, and for media.
The one I saw yesterday was the first ION with G-Boxx 2 on the market.

It's an amazing design that you can still shift during pedaling.
And that design makes me dream of it.

Too bad I can't have a DH bike.

My god that is S E X on wheels!!!!

Wish i could justify a bike like that but the combination of my skill and the local trails dont call for it! But super sweet, maybe as a toy would be nice if they werent so expensive
