Why not Arch rims? Might be a good compromise.

I don't buy Schwalbe tires anymore. They wear down too fast and I've had some that weren't really round (resulting in unstable handling).

Instead of the short stem I'd buy a bar with more backsweep (Truvativ Noir T30/Stylo Singlespeed/Syntace). It's more comfortable for the wrists, especially with the wide bars often used on 29er bikes.

I have Flow rims on my Ac 26"er.been good so far.Running I9 hubs and spokes.

I have Carbon truvativ bars on mine, been no problems but would like slightly wider.

I have King BB and headset. If buying the King BB i would buy the grease tool aswell,It makes it much easier.I grease mine every 2-3 months.

Thomson posts are excellent, running a masterpiece on mine,I have a Reverb on order. Will give it a go.
    Adds about 300g though.

Running Xtr pedals, which were excellent until i clipped a rock with them this afternoon and have managed to damage the spd mechanism.

Thomson stem--They are the best. Sdg saddles-i have Bel airs.been good to me.

I think Arch for the Rims and Havoc Carbone for the bar it's a good choice.

Fork Fox Float F29 RLC Kashima [of course]....

165mm is my XTR selection for arm length...........just in case...........

Dippers demo suffered ZERO strikes, luckily......The AC29 really sits up well, little mid stroke dive, just taught and accurate stroke control - Impressive !

    build's taking shape.

Confirmed Arch EX on Hope Pro Evo's. Nobby Nic 2.25" Tubeless.

    Confirmed XTR drivetrain.

Confirmed Hope Evo X2 Special Edition 180/160mm f/r. Floating or Fixed Rotors though ? Wanna keep weight as low as possible....

Fork still TBC. Looking now at either 34mm Float or TALAS RLC.

    Confirmed Fox RP23 Kashima.

Carbon Havoc bars although on 34mm fox forks, what flat wide carbon option do I have ? Enve ?

Tapered Headset TBC - Looking at Hope, but unsure if bottom race should be inset or external....especially if i go for the taller 34mm float although the 34mm float may only be tapered steerer....

May go 60/70mm on [Hope] stem length..will keep the 50mm thomson for steep / tech days..

I think the Hope headset doesn't fit. It cannot be inserted deep enough, it's flange is only 10mm and Nicolai asks for at least 12mm insert iirc. I think I'll take a Reset Konan headset for my Argon 29: RESET Steuersaetze
The Crank Bros. Iodine C headset might also fit, but I'm not sure whether the bearings are a match for those of the Reset headset.

Bar: Truvativ Noir T30 10S or are 700mm too narrow?

Have you considered the RS Monarch PLUS RC3 shock? If my budget was open, for sure I'd get one of those for my Prime, as is it comes with a DHX5.

Yes, the new Fox F34 series is only offered in a taperd steerer, no straight steerers.

F34 only tapered. Warranty void if you use it. Though you probably wont break it. So if you do, don't publish it on here ,
Takes 1.2 deg off head angle, raises BB by approx 12-14mm with a standard headset and brings the steerer back by 5mm or so as well as slackening the seat angle to 73 deg or so. So it will impact on climbing and weight distribution.

If you go CC Angleset and slacken it further by a degree to 69.8 deg using the top cup as the offset you put everything back to close to standard in terms of BB height and ST angle.

Alternatively I believe that Fox will be bringing out a F34 in 120mm flavour, maybe at Sea Otter in April...interim fork?

If you want to keep the weight down get a German:A excite 29. 120mm, 36mm stantions, yes not a mistake, adjustable travel and...sub 1.6kg...
You can find a review by guitar ted on twentynineinches.com same guy that reviewed the AC.

German:A are bringing a sub 2kg 140mm 36 stantion version out in next winter...
    Aka chainline...

    slight changes to spec.

XTR trail 3x10 and XTR trail brakes. need the option of a full range of gears, but wish shimano did 2x10 in 24/28 ????!!!!????

avoiding X0 as the arms are carbon and i'm not convinced of carbon cranks.... ?

possible reverb now or may re-use my old joplin.

stem will be 50mm thomson with havoc carbon bars. 70mm thomson for long days out.

float 32 rlc 29" kashima tapered into hope headset.

    rp23 kashima.

arch ex rims on pro 2 evos and revo's. nobby nic 2.25"

xtr shifters [why no matchmaker mr shimano ?].

xtr shadow plus rear mech. xtr 11-36 cassette.

Is there a Syntace 142mm rear axle option?

What was the final frame price and leadtime?

Nicolai offer a Rock Shox rear Maxle option - no idea, whether that is compatible to the Syntace standard.

hope so - i was super-impressed with dippers demo, even tho i was a 29" hater previously......

xtr trail throughout with 2x10 being the final decision...just got to wait for some bits to arrive before it can get assembled...

looking forward to it's first ride

That depends on the gear ratio, not the number of chainrings.
