Help me decide about a helius AM :)

    Discovered this bike... like... want....

1 - What price is a good deal for the frame alone, in good condition second hand or new but 2010 model?

2 - I'm 175cm tall, 178 wingspan, 77 inside leg. Usually fit medium frames, would the AM in a medium seem about right? I quite like the idea of a more compact bike so would a small be too small for me. I know I really need to demo one to know for sure but any preliminary advice appreciated.

3 - Whats the general concensus on best suited shock to this frame, balancing cost, weight and performance?

    Many thanks in advance

    hi

i ride a Helius AM and a Helius AC. the helius am in germany costs 1849. then the frame comes in black anod. or a pulver coat. 1849 = about 2600$
if you would buy it new you can take an AFR downtube for free. so the frame can take 180mm forks. my AM got this option and it only weights a 100 gramms more. geometry is the same.

im 173cm and size M is perfect for me.

which shock u use depents on what you want to to with the bike. for trailriding i would use an air shock. atm i use the rock shox vivid air r2c wit mid tune. the shock works great.

for enduro or more i would use a coil shock.

Thanks for the reply! I think the size M should be right then. For now I think I'll go for an air shock then, then if I find my confidence gets the better of me and I start launching off cliffs again, a coil it is...

    Currently looking at vivid air r2c / RP23 / Monarch RT3

BTW, your english is infinately better than my german!

    Cheers

jep i think M is perfect for you.
the vivid air r2c has got a great performance. my vivid weights 580 grams .... i also gat a fox dhx 5 with titanium spring. the fox weights 730 grams....
so the difference is only 150 grams..... but the vivid is cheaper i think...
