    Carbon Wheels

As requested by whafe a new thread. Well first impressions were how accurate and eager to change direction the bike is with the Easton Havens on it. The tyres were easy to mount with a small dose of stans fluid and took a good shape when inflated.

The crash that caused my broken hand was afairly high speed nose dive from a drop off on to tree roots which bottomed out the forks with all my weight onto the front wheel at an angle and the wheel survived unscathed. which is more than I can say for me!

Not a great start then, get well soon.

    Perhaps they're too stiff?

Great thread and deserved in the Nicolai area.....

Great start Garry AM, you are already doing better than I could translate the ride feel of carbon rims to a review....

That's a good endorsement Gary, sorry about the hand though!

I'm considering throwing a set of Carbon Haven's on a Sicklines trail bike build this year. The 2 yr no-questions warranty is an impressive display of confidence.

That went through my mind also, was surprised to not see Enve stickers on them.... As I normally do, I may end up taking the stickers off.

Will weigh them as soon as they arrive in New Zealand in my hands... Am very interested to see the weight... Taking into consideration that they are built with Hadley hubs, they will not be weight weenie light... I want robust hubs, Hadley have never let me down yet....

I don't think it's the weight that will amaze you it's the ride, besides weight at the hub is the least important part of the wheel, first is tyre, rim, spokes then hub so should ride great.

I will have the hubs soon(again),just need to find a cheaper alternative to those Enve/Edge rims.
Definetely want Bladed spokes,CX-Rays seem to be the best rated/most expensive.

    I see On one are doing a 29er carbon rim,with a 26" to follow.
