Few changes, of course the CCDB Air...

Shock went on perfectly... Have not ridden anywhere but around the yard. Will give it a work out tomorrow... Have to say, it cycles through way nicer than the Vivid Air, nothing wrong with the Vivid, this just feels more refined for want of a better word...

Also popped on some new Formula rotors, which look quite smart and a good weight..

Also removed the CC Angle Set, of which could never get tightened properly in my opinion, always was loose.. Replaced it with a CC Headset Zero Stack... It is now tight as, feels way better and my HA is all goody...

Am using my I9 Flow wheel at present, had some delamination on my ENVE rim, so it is in transit to ENVE and sorting a new rim...

All I can say re the CCDB Air..... Blew my mind, I didn't think there was anything wrong with the Vivid Air... But riding this DB Air today, it is more than refined, it is sensational.. Made the Vivid Air feel terrible... Just being honest...

And that was still sitting at the basic factory settings.....

Lets just say, I am happier than a pig in the proverbial steamy brown stuff...

I cant say for the 29er,but the 26" Hans Dampf is an amazing tyre, finds extra grip all the time.
Nice and stable, big Carcassed tyre. The 2.3 only just fits in the back of an AC.Its massive

    I would Reccomend

So what? But 1x10 -if carefully chosen- would do as well.

Tryed 1x10 on the AC,Works ok,but would need a summer and winter front sprocket.

If you use a smaller chain ring, you probably need to shorten the chain. Since, in my experience, it is not a very bright idea to shorten a used and already elongated chain, I'd use the opportunity to change the chain.

    edit: back to topic

When i ran 1x9 on my last bike, with a chain device,i didnt bother shortening the chain, just changed the rings, but was running a medium caged mech.I always change chains at 0.75

    Back on topic.

    Still want a Pinion.

I did try a Type 2 mech this week, and that works amazingly, was almost silent,no chain whip,or mech noise, was very impressed

TLR - Rate the Hans Dampf BIG time, for me it is better than the Ardent on the front. I cannot run a HD on the rear, to wide.... For me though, the front is where traction is needed... Get the front around, the rear will follow

I would for sure try one out....

Will ride Whitler with the Hans Damph on the front and the Ardent on the rear.... Doesn't look like the 29er Minion will get commmercial before I head to Whistler in Spetember...

midgetman and norcosam = Get a room.
