    Information from Pinion :

"For an ideal chainline on a regular 9-/10-speed freehub body in connection with the Pinion rear cog we have 23mm between hub body and the cog and 4,5mm between the cog and the lock ring for the freewheel body. "

Thanks for that. I've got a 26mm spacer fitted and thought it was almost spot on but obviously not. Oh well better go and order some more spacers.

on the pictire below the lock ring is in the wrong side

on this picture you can see the difference

the results is that the lock ring make a lot of friction on the arm of the crank, you have just to follow the manual to make the correction and put it correctly.

On this forum the green ano is in this case, and also th ion 18, i receive both frame and it's the case for both, verify it before your first ride ;-).
Cyril, you were right, that green ano Helius AM as well as that white Ion 18 were both affected from that assembly fault, another one too.

Two nice PINION build ups more:

    Here you are.

I´ve been asking durus (owner of the white Ion 18) to give some feedback to the PINION P1.18 gearbox in detail, and he made a sophisticated write-up at MtB-News.de, in German. So feel free to translate it online.

In addition, the PINION peeps provided an interesting explanation of some peculiarities while changing gears 6-7 and 12-13, resp. noises.

Wowbagger (owner of the green ano Helius AM) was so kind to give another sophisticated PINION P1.18 feedback, according to durus´ outline at MtB-News.de. Again, feel free to translate it online.

nice frame Dutshlander! That looks amazing... Is that ano bronze (why no extra love on the pinion faceplates?)?

I'm noticing that your frame's shock mount is different from the other Helius AM's posted on this thread...was that a special request on your part to save weight?

A few additional ride reports worth reading. Nevertheless I honestly hope the PINION gearbox(es) will prove oneself in the long run.

This gearbox Pinion is great and my bike is just whaooo! Great i love it! I ride 650b for the first time and it's my favorit wheel size, very good rolling skill close to à 29er and more reactive and agyle i think that 650b take a real place in enduro bike .

After some more tripps and a good setup the suspencion i can say that the pinion is working fine.
Upshifting under load is possible exept shifting from 6 to 7 and from 12 to 13 gear must the load hold on for a mili second. Downshifting under load is possible to a limited load but you can feel it by the force to twist the shifter is getting to high. The ratio between the gears is liniar with (so the manual) 11,5% and i find it so positiv to bike uphill.
    More coming soon
    get in gear
