Adjusting geometry on Nicolai's - Ion in particular

I'm hoping to get some clarity on whether or not you can use the adjustable plates that the shock bolts to in order to alter the geometry of Nicolai frames, specifically the Ion. I've heard that technically they are only for allowing shocks with different eye to eye lengths to be used and not for adjusting geometry. Indeed, I've also heard that using them to adjust geometry is a big 'no no'.

Thing is I've also heard other people using them to tweak geometry. I'm just curious more than anything but it would be interesting to tinker if it was allowed.

They are intended only for adjustment for different length shocks but you *can* use it to adjust geometry at your own risk. If you do you must do a collission test - remove the shock spring and ensure that no part of the frame or attached parts collides with any other at any point in the travel.
