Fairfax Woman wins National College MTB Title

Here's a "feel good" story from the Independent Journal about a local woman who won the national college MTB title.

Although the article says she rides for Fort Lewis College, it doesn't mention where that college is, which is Durango, Colorado, home of many world class mountain bikers including Ned Overend, Greg Herbold, Cindy Whitehead and John Tomac.

They should just make the people who live above 1k feet acclimate to sea level for a month before these races. It's so brutally unfair to the rest of us at these races.

Congratulation to Lauren Catlin, Divisions 1 NCAA Champion! Huge accomplishment and she is only a sophomore so letís hope she stays healthy and with the sport. Another champion from the Bay Area goes to show how great the sport is!

Congrats to Lauren! I was out there(racing DH and DS,not XC) and the conditions were pretty crazy.
Wish I had skis for the first third of the DH course...
